"Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth."

The universal values of kindness, warmth, sincerity and compassion are appreciated by everybody. They are the keys to lasting friendship and happiness. NorthSouth has been offering this unique online coaching program since 2013. The program is based on values that are universal in nature and can be applied by each individual of any age, gender, culture, country, or religion. Practicing values in life makes a clear-cut way for a better path. Values imparted early on will help an individual grow into a wholesome, considerate adult.

By practicing these values during the development stages, one can achieve the mental stability and strength to lead not only a successful life, but a life surrounded by peace and harmony.

The universal values classes are facilitated by volunteers who themselves will practice and share their experiences of each of the values. The material will be shared a week ahead of the scheduled class. Students will meet online and will discuss the value in the first class. After experiencing that value for one more week, the students will meet with the coach to overcome difficulties and reach a state where the value becomes a part of their daily lives. Each student will be exposed to 8 values over a period of 16 weeks.

The coaches are facilitators who would lead a discussion of a new value every 2 weeks. Homework in terms of expression about the value in discussion (Cartoon, Poem, personal experiences, etc.) will be shared with the class and might find an entry in our blog. Classes are offered on weekends as well as weekday evenings. They are grouped by grade at junior, intermediate and senior levels. Graduates who took UV 101 in the past years can sign up for UV 201 where another set of 8 values will be handled.

The classes will start in Early October 2017 and will last until April 2018. We will have breaks during Thanksgiving and winter (Christmas, New Year) holidays. Courses are offered for 3 peer levels: Junior (1-3 grades), Intermediate (4-8 grades) and Senior (9-12 grades).

Students who participate actively and attend all the online classes will be awarded a medal at Awards Ceremony during their regional contests.

Eternal Questions

Socrates said that an unexamined life is not worth living. He posed many questions: What is virtue? What is justice? What is courage? What life is good? What is piety? What is moderation? Do the means justify the ends? What is truth? What is knowledge? What is love? What is wisdom? Who is a wise man?

Through practice of Universal values, we gain great insights in answering such questions.

North South Vision

  • To provide a platform for children to come together to discuss universal values and practice them so that they become an integral part of their daily lives.
  • To help children excel in values in addition to excelling in academic subjects.
