Scholarship Guidelines

  1. The Foundation covers scholarships for undergraduate professional college level courses (engineering, medicine and polytechnics) only.

  2. Uniform eligibility criteria are being used to identify the poor and meritorious students across chapters. Because of limited funds, only the most eligible students will be considered for scholarships.

  3. No assistance is provided for students at the high school level and those at the graduate (Master's) level.

  4. Eligibility criteria for these scholarships include:

    • Family income of less than Rs. 45,000 (Rs. 32,000 in rural areas)

    • Top 5% ranks in Common Entrance Tests with relaxation of 5% to rural and girl students in ranks

    • Preference to the rank of first attempt

    • Students coming from government or government aided schools only

    • First year students in the course of study chosen

    • Students not eligible for other scholarships

  5. Candidates are short listed based on their applications and then will be interviewed along with their parent for final selection.

  6. Application forms can be obtained by contacting one of the 17 local chapters. Click here for contact information. Students have two to four weeks to send in their applications along with their academic scores and documents on their financial status.

  7. The usual deadline for filing the applications with the respective chapters is July 15 each year. However, the chapter office should be contacted for exact date.
