General Guidelines:

The North South Foundation (NSF) Scholarship Program is committed to supporting meritorious and economically disadvantaged students in pursuing higher education. To ensure fairness, transparency, and effective utilization of available resources, the Scholarship Committee has reviewed and finalized the Scholarship Norms for the Academic Year 2026–27.

These norms have been developed based on scholarship demand trends, budget availability, student demographics, academic merit, socio-economic considerations, and the Foundation’s long-term vision of supporting deserving students across India. The norms outlined in this document shall serve as the guiding framework for scholarship eligibility, selection, and recommendation processes during the academic year.

While these norms provide the standard eligibility criteria, exceptional cases involving significant social or financial hardship may be considered by the Scholarship Committee on a case-by-case basis, subject to available resources.

Eligibility Criteria

Gap Year	Only 2 Years gap is allowed after +2/Intermediate or any Equivalent Examination for 4-Year BE/B.Tech, MBBS and 4-year Integrated BA/BSc. B.Ed. course of RIEs of NCERT. No gap is allowed for 3-Year BE/B.Tech (Lateral entry). Minimum eligibility for Diploma is 10th. If a student is applying for Diploma after 12th, is also eligible. It would not be considered to be gap after 10th class. But no gap is allowed if S/he joins either after 10th or 12th.

Middle Income States: Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Sikkim, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Daman & Diu, Puducherry, Ladakh.
High Income States: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Delhi (NCT), Chandigarh, Lakshadweep.
