Welcome to Satna Chapter

Satna (the cement city) is a border city of Madhya Pradesh and is touched by the borders of the state of Uttar Pradesh. Satna Junction railway station is a station in Western-Central railway division on the route between Jabalpur Junction and Allahabad. It lies on the busy train route connecting Mumbai and Howrah. Due to the abundance of limestone and dolomite in the region, the city houses many good cement producing industries and is known as 'World's largest cement producing district'. Satna district has some major religious tourism spots including 'Chitrakoot' and 'Maihar'. A long history is associated with this place. In Ramayana Era, Lord Rama stayed in the region of Chitrakoot; half of it is in the outskirts of Satna, shared with Uttar Pradesh, which contains the rest. Satna district is proud to be close to an ancient city of Buddhist culture named 'Bharhut', whose archaeological remains are displayed in many museums in India and all over the world. Satna is the nearest Indian railway station for world famous temples of 'Khajuraho'.
