Fall Learning Journey

PLEASE READ BEFORE PAYING FOR THE REGISTRATION

This is not a traditional instructor based class. The registration fee of $40 covers access to a google classroom where NorthSouth will post recordings of monthly AI Club Speaker sessions.
No instructor support will be available, the fee is for access to watch the recordings only. Each session is 1 hour long.

PLEASE IGNORE THE CLASS DAYS AND TIMES DISPLAYED IN THE REGISTRATION CARDS. THIS IS AN AYSNCHORNOUS CLASS AND ALL COMMUNICATION WILL BE DONE IN A GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

STUDENTS WILL HAVE 24x7 access to the classroom, and can watch the recordings at their convenience.

NorthSouth will post recordings of 6 speaker sessions delivered by industry and academia experts from companies and institutions such as NVIDIA, Stanford University, SS&C Intralinks and IBM.

One recording will be posted by the 1 st of each month starting from March 1st until Aug 1st. Students will have access to the recording for a mnimum of 1 month after the last recording is posted.

Course Description: 

This 12-week finance course provides students (grades 8 to 12 and 7th graders with understanding of stocks and other financial instruments) and parents with a broad understanding of essential financial concepts. 

From distinguishing between credit and debit cards to navigating complex investment vehicles like stocks and bonds, students will explore the financial systems that impact their daily lives and future. 

The course emphasizes the importance of financial literacy, particularly in a world where 56% of Americans have less than $5,000 in savings, forcing many to live paycheck to paycheck. 

By the end, students will not only grasp the fundamentals of budgeting, investing, and saving but also learn about frugality, retirement planning, economic indicators, and managing risk. 
This knowledge will equip them with the tools to build long-term financial security.
