Welcome to Kanpur Chapter
Kanpur is the largest city in the state of Uttar Pradesh which literally meansNorthern Province. Most common language spoken is Hindi. Kanpur is the economic and industrial capital of Uttar Pradesh. It was widely known as the Manchester of the East. The city's name is believed to be derived from Kanhiyapur meaningtown of Kanhaiya(Krishna) or Karnapur meaning town of Karna(one of the heroes of the Mahabharata). It is about 70 Km from state capitol Lucknow. Kathak, a classical dance form, owes its origin to the state of Uttar Pradesh.
Kanpur chapter was started in 2012 by India volunteer Shri Avadh Narain Verma along with US volunteer Neeraj Verma.
